What this is
tour.com is a tour-search site. You can search tours, compare providers, and build trip plans without signing in or giving us any personal information.
What we collect
- If you sign in with Google: your name and email address, as provided by Google. We use them only to identify your account and sync your saved tours and trips across your devices. We never see or store your Google password.
- Saved tours and trips: the tour IDs you heart and the trip plans you save while signed in, so they're there when you come back on another device.
- Anonymous analytics: we record anonymous usage events, such as which searches run (including the search text itself, with email- and phone-like details automatically removed), which cards are viewed, which provider links are clicked, and which trips are planned, saved, or shared — with no name, email, or account attached. To count distinct browsers rather than just tabs, analytics also uses a random identifier stored on your own device — see "Cookies and device storage" below. This helps us understand what travelers actually use.
What we don't collect
- No payment information — booking and payment always happen on the provider's own site. We never touch your card.
- No passwords. Sign-in is handled entirely by Google.
- We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Cookies and device storage
If you sign in, we set one tour_session cookie to keep you signed in for 30 days. It's HttpOnly (JavaScript can't read it) and sent only over HTTPS. No tracking cookies.
For analytics, we store two random identifiers on your device, in browser storage rather than cookies: one for each tab session, and one persistent visitor identifier that lets us count unique browsers in aggregate. They hold no personal information, are never sold or shared, and are never used for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can remove them at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser — you'll simply be counted as a new browser on your next visit.
Deleting your data
Sign in, open the account menu (your initial, top-left), and choose Delete account. This permanently erases your account, your saved tours, and your saved trip list. Trip plans you shared via link stay viewable to anyone with the link, but they're no longer connected to you.
